Nevinson Cuffy, aka SPRAGGY was born on November 18, 1962, in Point Michel, on the English speaking island of Dominica (Common Wealth of Dominica), located in the Caribbean sea between Martinique and Guadeloupe.
A carefree and turbulent child, but he quickly realizes that his life will be dedicated to music and that he will have a message to convey. At the age of 20, he was nicknamed “the man of golden voice”. His powerful and charismatic voice amazes everyone, the musicians and the local producers ask only for him, so he begins his first professional scenes.
Under the nickname Spraggy, which follows him since his teenage years and becomes his pseudonym, Nevinson released his first album “Blessing from above” (Kufe Records), followed by “Bad Boys”, made in Dominica with the best musicians of jazz, blues, reggae and bouillon from the island such as Hurricane, Cornell Philip… These albums confirm his reggae singer status as a must in his country and his name begins to cross borders.
Spraggy settled in Paris in 2000, and 2008 in Bordeaux where he now lives.
